Oldco hero stands up for Broony with amazing on air comeback

Kevin Thompson and Scott Brown are known to be good friends off the pitch despite having been rivals on it, but Thompsons quip in Broony’s defence is as straight talking as it comes.

This follows on yesterday when Colin Hendry threw all the toys out the pram as can be read here in the Glasgow Times.

“That’s not what captains do,” Hendry told BBC Radio Scotland’s Breakfast Show.

“If he wants to do that, and he’s done it, he did it with Morelos at Parkhead and he’s done it with Ryan Kent.

“The mannerisms afterwards in relation to Morelos when he get sent off, and then when Ryan Kent got sent off.

“Billy McNeill, Paul McStay, Murdo McLeod, Tom Boyd, greatest captain at Aberdeen, Willie Miller – I know it’s a different era but would you see them do that? Would you really honestly see them do that?

“What I’m saying is if you want to do that, I’ve not got a problem. There’s players in the game, in the teams that I’ve played in, will do that.

“But take the armband off, hand it to somebody else and go and do your Robbie Savage stint.”

Broony is again proving that he is living rent free in their heads, today the referee involved in the match Kevin Clancy has been stood down, the incident involving McGregor taking out the attacker for no penalty or red card from which Sevco scored was not cited as a reason for his removal.
