2 must follow Bolingoli exit, one loan move is also a must

Celtic have had a wonderful window both in and out, we have seen Maeda, CCV and Jota sign on permanently with Siegrist and Bernabei coming in on a free and a reasonable fee respectively.

We have also seen 5 players farmed out on loan, Barkas and Hazard in the goalkeeping position have been joined by Montgomery Scales and Soro.

Of these 5 we would be hoping that both Scales and Montgomery come back all the stronger.

We would also be hoping we receive offers for the other 3 as Barkas and Hazard are 4th and 5th choice at the club behind Hart, Siegrist and Bain and Soro is clearly not the answer to the question at Defensive midfield.

But the cut back on players shouldn’t finish here.

There is 1 more players that should head out on loan and two that we should really be parting ways with.

In our attacking lines we have Johny Kenny who came to the club last year amid interest from Hibernian, we snapped the Irishman up but he has seen no game time.

A call across the M8 and a loan deal would be an outstanding result, we would get to see him in the Premiership and he wouldn’t spend the season warming the bench.

If not at Hibs, Celtic could surely find him another club, the boy looks a great talent, it would be a shame to keep him away from reaching his potential.

As for permanent transfers like Bolingoli’s today, fellow forward Albian Ajeti looks miles away from first team selection, we should be looking to sell him in England realistically for whatever fee we can get from whatever team he is willing to go to.

Celtic are on the look out for another forward but with Kyogo and Maeda playing the role of goal hungry whippets and Giakoumakis playing the back to goal one touch poacher fantastically there really isn’t any need for a further addition.

We have what we need up front.

Finally is the call that should have been made long ago, Mikey Johnston, he has undoubted pace, tekkers and loves the club but he is injury ravaged, low on end product and his attitude is questionable.

I saw the Celtic TV interview and he looks very positive for the season ahead, but when hasn’t he been?

With Bolingoli away, we now have a structure whereby Taylor, Bernabei and Jota will be the 3 players competing to be on the left flank, with Kyogo and Maeda capable of putting in a shift on the wing we have no need for Mikey.

All of them are superior player to him.

It would be better for Celtic to see him leave this window for good, it is a crying shame we didn’t pick up Regan Charles-Cook, he has scored more goals in a season than I can ever remember seeing Mikey score in Hoops.

Ange wants 2 players in each position, as things stand, inexperienced Kenny isn’t even 3rd in the list, he needs a loan.

Ajeti and Johnston can say the same, it is time the club trimmed these 2, one a player who promised so much but never quite delivered, and the other who did the exact same just in a shorter length of time.
