Remember when Pedro subbed Andy Halliday before half time in a derby and Celtic fans sung his name? Yeah me too!
Sevco fans have had a bit of fun with the Newco fan boy who will come up against his former employers in the Scottish Cup final after Hearts saw off city rivals Hibernian 2-1 on Saturday.
The photo below has Ronaldinho with his former teammates in a club photo, it will be interesting to see how both Souttar and Halliday play vs the Newco.
With Souttar he will if fit, play a game vs his future employers, something Jordan Jones did for Kilmarnock when they signed him on a precontract, Jones scored and was pilloried for it.
His Newco career never really got going when he was sent off trying to take a leg off a Celt and paradoxically did his ACL at the same time.
Souttar has continued ankle problems after having surgery, it will be interesting if he plays in such a big game.
Meanwhile Halliday himself was hooked due to injury on 39 minutes, he said in the Daily Record of his chances of playing.
Halliday, who was on his feet cupping his ears at the Hearts support at full time, admits he could be sore for a few weeks but enough ice should see him fine for the May 21 final.
“It will probably be sore for the next couple of weeks, I imagine,” he added. “But I don’t think it’s too bad. “21st of May? I’ll have so much ice (on the ankle) till then so it will be fine.”
Let us all hope Halliday pops up for a winner on 93 minutes, I hate to say it but in times such as these I find myself cheering for clubs from Edinburgh, hell, it worked last time.
