Aaron Mooy is back in Glasgow where his Scottish wife and family are based, at 31 years of age he is looking at his last World Cup with the Socceroos and needs game time.
Before he retires he also would like to pick up some silverware, with Celtic having an extremely strong team he has a great opportunity to win titles at Parkhead.
There is also the Champions League for him to test himself in, he would be a ready made replacement for Rogic and would be a player who would be able to do a job in Scotland having experienced the Premiership whilst playing for St. Mirren 10 years ago.
There is competition for his signature, but hopefully the lure of being able to work and live with his family in Glasgow will help him pick Celtic if Ange comes knocking.
Mooy and his agent had this to say in The Sun:
“There’s plenty of interest around the world for Aaron and we’re weighing up all the options.
“There’s certainly no rush to make a decision.”
Mooy is currently based in Glasgow with his Scottish wife and family and helped the Aussies reach a World Cup spot after play-off wins over United Arab Emirates and Peru.
He previously praised Postecoglou’s work and stated: “He’s a very good coach.
“The style that he wants to play is the way I like playing as well.
“I’m happy to be playing under him.
“He’s intimidating, but the way he wants to play football, I want to play like that as well.
“I’m enjoying it.”
Hopefully we can get a deal over the line for Mooy, he would be a fantastic addition to the team adding experience to the midfield and on a free transfer an absolute bargain usually outside of our means.
