Tottenham has the perfect ticket exchange scheme fans are screaming for

The weekend saw the full house sign go up but with as many as half of the seats empty, this was all the worse as there were many Celtic fans wanting to go and watch the team.

That we do not have a ticket exchange system is strange, the club is run very professionally and there is a waiting list over 15,000 after all.

Of course creating a system is difficult, but why not just take a tried a true system and use it for the fans?

Spurs call their system Ticket Exchange, here is the overview.

What is Ticket Exchange?

Ticket Exchange is the Club’s official online resale platform which gives Season Ticket Holders and Premium Members the ability to sell their designated seat at face value to a One Hotspur Member to buy (or other supporters if the game goes on General Sale) for any Premier League home fixture they are unable to attend.

Seats continually become available across the stadium on Ticket Exchange right up until matchday with Season Ticket Holders and Premium Members able to list their seat up until four hours before kick-off. Tickets purchased via Ticket Exchange are strictly non-transferable and non-refundable.

Buying a seat via Ticket Exchange

One Hotspur Members (and other supporters if the game goes on General Sale) can buy seats listed for resale on Ticket Exchange by following the below steps.

Please note – all seats listed on Ticket Exchange will have a red circle around them on our eTicketing stadium map (see example image below).

  1. Login to your eTicketing account (by clicking the button below)
  2. Click on the fixture you would like to purchase a ticket for
  3. Blocks which have seats available to buy will be highlighted in blue
  4. Select an available seat (ones listed for resale will have a red circle around them) and add to your basket

Selling a seat via Ticket Exchange

Season Ticket Holders and Premium Members can list their seat for resale on Ticket Exchange by following these steps;

  1. Login to your eTicketing account (by clicking the button below)
  2. Click ‘My Account’ which will be in the top right-hand corner of your screen
  3. Under ‘Ticketing’, choose ‘Manage Tickets’
  4. Select the fixture that you are unable to attend
  5. Select the seats you wish to list for resale from those available within your network
  6. Click ‘Sell Tickets’ – you’ll be notified by email once your ticket has been purchased

This would be a wonderful system for Celtic, we already have links to Spurs after the CCV transfer, all we would need to do is to ask for help implementing the system.

Everyone on the season ticket waiting list already has a log in on the Celtic website, most of those coming from abroad are on Celtic TV and are registered.

If you were not already, registration takes very little time and this would be a fair and transparent way of allowing fans be them regulars or out of town fans to get tickets and maximise the stadium experience.

It will cost Celtic next to nothing, it would make the fans far happier and add more people into the ground to cheer on the Bhoys.

This is long overdue.

  1. This should have been in place years ago. You have to wonder why the powers that be don’t get the finger out and the answer is “what’s in it for me” springs to mind. Tbh, I would gladly give my seat away for nothing if it meant the seats were filled & not wasted.
